Jonathan Bates, 44, has been in hospital in Sheffield since the accident on Oak Dale Road on February 18. He suffered severe brain injuries which resulted in memory loss, a broken neck and two broken vertebrae.

Jonathan is expected to stay on the spinal unit for another three months and is undergoing rehabilitation to help him adapt to life in a wheelchair. His home needs to be adapted to include wide doors and ramps and the garage is currently being converted into a bedroom.
