ACORN Brewery hit its 15th birthday in style by inviting customers, suppliers and family to a party at the brewery.

The party was also a showcase of the brewery’s new ‘Decades’ range of beers, a series of ales based on the music of the 50s, 60s and 70s that have been released to commemorate the landmark.

The 70s-themed brew is the next in line to be released, following ‘Alehouse Rock’ and ‘Itchycoo Dark’.

Ale lovers are invited to suggest names for the new beers on social media.

Christy Hughes, director of business development for the brewery, said: “The Decades range has been rather exciting.

“We want to involve our customers in the brew process, we thought what better way to do so by inviting our customers to name the beer, with the winner’s name featuring on the pump clip.

“So far, we have run three competitions with a further three to take place, watch for more details on social media.”

Acorn is also launching a new Brewery Club in which customers are invited to have a pint or two in the newly-refurbished brewery bar on the last Friday of every month.

The brewery, known for its award-winning Barnsley Bitter, was established in Wombwell in July 2003.
