A WOMAN in her 60s had to be treated for smoke inhalation after a house fire in Wentworth.

Three fire engines from Tankersley, Dearne and Elm Lane attended the scene on Main Street at 10.30am on Tuesday.

A spokesman for the fire service said the blaze in the first floor bedroom was caused when heat coming through the chimney lining set the floorboards on fire.

The fire was out by 11am, but the woman had to be given oxygen therapy at the scene.
