POLICE believe the body discovered in Wombwell on Wednesday evening is that of missing West Melton woman Cheryl Phillips.
Cheryl, 45, was last seen on Wednesday May 27 at around 10am on Co-Operative Street, West Melton.
Although formal identification had not taken place yesterday, police said they believe the body was Cheryl's and have informed her family.
It was found in wooded area off Bradbury Balk Lane at around 9pm on Wednesday and police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
