New signing Mike-Steven Bahre can play anywhere across midfield or up front according to Daniel Stendel who brought him through the Hannover 96 academy.

The 23-year-old German signed on a season-long loan on deadline day, with the Reds having an option to make the deal permanent next summer. He reunites with head coach Stendel who was his coach in the Hannover youth teams and then first team, for whom he has made three substitute appearances. He started Tuesday’s cup game at Oldham as a second striker.

Stendel said: “It is very new for him, he only trained with the team on Monday. He played well and I know he can play better. He will help us this season. I have a lot of trust him and I have known him for six years. He can play number six (defensive midfield), number eight (attacking midfield), number ten (behind striker) or on the wing.”
