BOXER Lee Noble says overwhelming support from friends, family and fans is helping him square up to cancer.

Lee, 27, of Dodworth, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in September and has spent the last three months in and out of hospital undergoing tests and treatment.

This week, he told the Chronicle his fight for life was proving every bit as hard as he feared – but he was being spurred on by support from the public.

He said: "I'm fighting hard but I feel like I'm missing out on so much. But I've got to do it. There are too many people doing their bit, helping me through this, raising money.

" I cannot thank everyone enough for everything they are doing – I've said this a thousand times but it really does mean the world to me."

Lee outlined his intensive treatment which includes an injection directly into his spine to try to prevent the disease spreading.
