A BOY who released a balloon in memory of his late granddad believes it reached heaven before turning up thousands of miles away in Germany.
Alfie Mills, four, released the balloon with a message to Stephen Mills, telling him how much he and his sister Gracie-May loved and missed him.
When the balloon turned up in Germany, Alfie’s parents David and Katie, of Grosvenor Drive, Barnsley, told him it had been kissed by Stephen in heaven, and sent back down to earth.

Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
Your support allows us to keep holding decision-makers to account and report on everything that happens in the town, good or bad, fairly."
