A NEW crossing is being considered in Brampton after a man was hit by a car.

The 24-year-old man was crossing the road at the pedestrian zebra crossing on the junction of Knollbeck Lane and Chapel Avenue when he was hit by a green Vauxhall Corsa.

He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he remains but is now in a stable condition.

The incident, at 8.30pm on August 17, prompted a petition and plans for a peaceful protest from residents in the area, who feel speeding vehicles on the road make the crossing no longer suitable for use.
