Today's match at Park Road between Worsbrough Bridge and Glasshoughton Welfare is not just clash between a home side desperately battling relegation and a promotion-chasing away team.

It is not even a meeting of two brothers on opposing sides as former Worsbrough captain Connor Rollinson returns to his former club, where younger sibling Calan plays.

It is a far more meaningful day for the Rollinson family as the brothers have chosen their game against each other to host a fund-raising event on behalf of their mother Lucille who has acute myeloid leukaemia.

Since being diagnosed in October, the 47-year-old from Lundwood has had three intense rounds of chemotherapy and is set to undergo a bone marrow transplant after a match was found.

Tomorrow's game in Worsbrough is being called 'Show your support for Luce day' with bucket collections for Leukaemia UK while the players will wear special shirts in the warm-up.

Connor said: "Mum's illness has been life-changing for all of us but she is being really brave and hopefully she can get to the match on Saturday. It will be a really important day for our family, and we just hope the weather doesn't call it off."
