Jacob Brown has become the latest Barnsley promotion star to extend his contract at Oakwell.

The 21-year-old has signed a new deal until 2022, having played 32 League One matches in the 2018/19 season which brought him eight goals and six assists.

He had penned a new deal in December of last year until 2021 but then became a first team regular on the right wing following the January sale of Brad Potts.

Brown told the Chronicle: "It’s massive for the club to give me a new contract and I’m really happy about it. I definitely see my long-term future at Barnsley. I have been here five years now and I want to stay a lot more years. It’s a great club and I’m really enjoying it here.”

Jake Greatorex, the 19-year-old goalkeeper who is from Barnsley, has also signed a new deal until next year. He was in the matchday squad several times last season but is yet to make his debut.  Striker Cauley Woodrow signed up until 2022 earlier this month while midfielder Mike Bahre has signed permanently after a season-long loan.
