Katherine Brunt is due to play for England at Headingley for the first time in her career tomorrow.

The fast bowler from Dodworth, who turned 33 this week, has played 185 games for England including her debut in Scarborough in 2004 and a 2010 One Day International at her home club Shaw Lane in Barnsley. But she has never played international cricket at the stadium of Yorkshire CCC, whose women's team she represents.

England are due to take on New Zealand in a 50-over match in Leeds tomorrow. Brunt said: "I'm massively looking forward to it. I have played there a few times for Yorkshire Diamonds but never for England which is insane really. It's a great venue and hopefully we can play there more in the future. The first England Women's game I ever saw was at Headingley when I was 16 and it inspired me a lot. So hopefully we can inspire a new generation this weekend."

England beat New Zealand in the final of the Tri-Series in Chelmsford on Sunday. Brunt took two for 26 to restrict the Kiwis to 137 for nine. England then chased the target with 17 balls and seven overs remaining.

To reach the final of the competition which also featured South Africa, England had beaten New Zealand by seven wickets on Thursday in Bristol. Brunt claimed one for 20 from three overs to remove the Kiwis for 129.

She said: "It was a really difficult competition, in testing conditions against very good opposition. But we have been very successful in it and learned a lot as a team. Personally, I have felt good. I have held my own with the ball on some really good batting decks and had some fun with the bat."

England now play New Zealand in three One Day Internationals at Headingley tomorrow, Derby on Tuesday and Leicester on Friday.
