POLICE have appealed to the public for help to reunite a 75-year-old man with sentimental items taken after his home was burgled.

Between 11.30am on April 11 and 9.45am on April 15, the man’s Saltersbrook Road home in Darfield was targeted after offenders smashed a downstairs window.

Around 20 Lilliput Lane figurines were stolen, valued at around £2,000, in addition to a HP printer and digital camera.

Three of the figurines are larger, one of which is the ‘Lady Windermere’ figure and the two others are railway stations.

The figurines are collectors’ items, which mean a lot to the victim, and officers are asking for help to find them.

A spokesman said: “Did you see or hear anything suspicious in the area between the times mentioned? Have you seen the figures for sale anywhere in the area?

“If you can help, please call 101 quoting incident number 157 of April 15.

“You can also speak to Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.”
