YOU wait and wait for a bus, and then two shelters come along at once...
Two bus shelters were installed on Saville Road at Gilroyd yesterday on the side of the road which doesn’t currently have any bus services.
Local councillor Phil Burkinshaw spotted what he assumed was a mistake. “There is a bus that runs along there, but the other way, on the other side of the road.
“We’re always talking about how we need to save money, and here we are putting shelters up on a road that doesn’t even have a bus service.
“I rang South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive to se if we were getting a new bus service, but it doesn’t look like it.”
Nobody from SYPTE was available to comment yesterday.
