A BARNSLEY business woman has issued a warning after receiving a bogus call from someone purporting to be the tax man.
Val Dootson, who with her husband Steve runs Dootson Motors in Barnsley Road, Cudworth, received what she describes as a “horrible bogus call from a man saying he was from the HMRC demanding a large amount of money.”
She said the man had a posh accent and was very knowledgeable about her business.
He told her that she owed back taxes and costs of more than £3,400.
