A CONCERNED dog walker wants to put marker posts on the Trans Pennine Trail after paramedics struggled to locate him when his stepdaughter was thrown from her horse and knocked unconscious.

Simon Tucker was on the trail close to Bullhouse Bridge with his partner Jo Hill and her daughter Lauren riding alongside him.

Lauren, 23, suffered a heavy fall when her horse was spooked, which left Simon with the difficult job of attempting to give their exact position to the emergency services.

The 43-year-old now wants to put wooden or stone posts on the trail, which give a grid reference and place name, to help anyone in a similar situation.
