PEOPLE as young as 30 have been diagnosed with head and neck cancer in Barnsley, prompting health chiefs to launch a campaign about what symptoms to look out for.
There has been an increase in the number of cases from 83 in 2012/13 to 122 in 2013/14 and Dr Nick Balac, GP and chairman of the clinical commissioning group said, men in particular had been affected by the disease.
It's most common in people over 50, although younger people can be affected too and it is thought the rise is due to earlier detection which leads to better survival rate.
Symptoms can include mouth ulcers, sore tongue, hoarseness, voice changes, a lump in the throat and throat pain.
The team will be in the Alhambra on July 2 and outside Sports Direct on June 18 and 25.
