AN UNAUTHORISED car park which has been operating without permission has been ordered to close.
Barnsley Council refused retrospective planning consent for the car park, off Old Mill Lane, close to Barnsley town centre, because of safety concerns relating to restricted sight lines for motorists leaving the site.
The car park had space to accommodate up to 48 vehicles.
Enforcement action will now be taken to ensure the business ceases.
