CAREWORKER Donna White calmly reaches into the handbag of 84-year-old Diana Bramall and helps herself to a wad of cash.

It’s something she did on at least 64 occasions on an almost daily basis over a period of at least 18 weeks.

The images shown are taken from video footage captured by a concealed camera in Mrs Bramall’s kitchen. It had been set up by her concerned family after she was regularly finding herself short of cash, and the lens constantly watched over the same chair where she always kept her handbag.

This week Donna White is behind bars, beginning a ten month jail sentence handed to her at Sheffield Crown Court on Tuesday after she admitted stealing from Mrs Bramall, of Oxspring, to whom she had been carer for three years.

“I just couldn’t believe someone could do that to me,” Mrs Bramall told the Chronicle this week. “I liked her. I trusted her. That’s what really gets you.”
