A CATERING company that supplies food to Barnsley schools has been given a ‘Good Egg Award’ for its commitment to animal welfare.

Food and More, which caters to over 200 schools across the UK, was given the award for the standards of sourcing higher welfare eggs, meat and dairy produce.

The Compassion Good Farming Animal Welfare Awards recognises companies who have exceptional animal welfare standards.

Brian Keers, head of catering development at Carillion, the company which owns Food and More, was delighted with the recognition.

“We’re delighted that Food and More has been recognised by Compassion in World Farming with this award,” he said.
