CELEBRITY hairdresser Andrew Barton is to launch his training programme in Barnsley.

Royston-born Andrew will launch the programme at Barnsley College’s Open Kitchen restaurant at 6pm on Tuesday July 10, with hairdressers invited to attend.

Andrew Barton London Education is a training programme which offers colleges add-on training to their existing hairdresser education.

The programme is designed to give students an extra qualification to further their employment opportunities. It will also provide stronger links between colleges like Barnsley College and industry specialists.

This is the latest in a host of events that Andrew has been part of in Barnsley, following his history of hairdressing exhibition at The Civic earlier this year, as well as co-hosting a charity ball to raise funds for the restoration of The Civic. The stylist also teaches hairdressing students at Barnsley College, where he learned his trade.

Andrew said: “I’m so thrilled to be launching my Andrew Barton London Education first here in Barnsley and to be presenting this exclusive launch at Barnsley College where my career first started.”

Sarah Seaman, head of department for hair and beauty at Barnsley College said: “Andrew Barton London Education is the latest innovation in our approach to creating strong links between the College and the hairdressing industry.”

“Students will expand their hairdressing skills and make a commitment to enhancing their learning by participating in training above the minimum standard, improving their skill set. We look forward to welcoming salons that would like to be a part of this amazing journey.”
