CHILDREN at a nursery in Lundwood have created a booklet which encourages people to be more healthy.

The three and four-year-olds in the Darling Class at Littleworth Grange Outwood Primary have made the booklet which includes information about healthy eating, exercising, brushing your teeth and washing your hands.

They took it to Lundwood doctors’ surgery and left copies to be shared with patients, and a copy was even left at Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Nursery teacher Kathryn Robinson said: “The booklet talks about lots of different ways in which to keep healthy.

“We had a visitor in to talk about brushing teeth and someone came down to show us different exercises.

“We’ve talked about washing our hands and have looked at lots of different fruit and vegetables. We tasted lots of different fruits including exotic fruits which they may not have tried before.

“It also looks at things such as getting plenty of sleep and drinking lots of water.

“We’ve put it all together in a booklet and wrote a little piece on each page about how to stay healthy.”

The children took the book to the doctors’ surgery where it was shared by patients and pupil Max Watson took one to Sheffield Children’s Hospital where his sister is being treated.

Kathryn added: “They’ve really enjoyed learning how to be healthy, especially the exercises and eating different fruit and vegetables.”
