THE musical director of a world-famous Barnsley choir collected his MBE to celebrate his services to young people and music.
Mat Wright was named in the Queen’s 2020 birthday honours list and received his MBE in a ceremony held at Buckingham Palace yesterday.
In 2009, Mat established Barnsley Youth Choir alongside his wife, Eleanor, and Keith Norton and the group has won numerous gold medals at the World Choir Games, ranked third in the world.
