For soldiers who won't be home with their loved ones this Christmas, Barnsley singer songwriter Chrissy Sykes will be sending them a kiss in a charity single she's releasing for Help for Heroes.

Chrissy, who has a musical background and used to live in Nashville, Tennessee, sings on 'Send Me A Kiss For Christmas' which she co-wrote with Wales-based lyricist Georgina Hilton.

It is being released as a charity single for Christmas and will be available to download from Monday.

Chrissy, who lives at Ward Green, said: "The song is relevant to our soldiers and loved ones who will not be with us for Christmas.

"We already have several promises of radio play and we are looking for ways to spread the word.

"As the songwriters, we are meeting all the set up and running costs ourselves so that every penny raised will go towards the vital work Help For Heroes is doing to support the wounded.

"It's just a really lovely, heart-warming song."

The video on YouTube has already had about 120,000 views and Chrissy is hoping the 79p single sells well when it is made available on iTunes, Play.com and Amazon this month.

"We're really thrilled people are watching it," she said.

"We're not trying to be breakout artists or anything like that, we're just wanting to raise as much as possible for Help for Heroes."
