THE MOTHER of two boys who were murdered by their father has delivered a petition to Downing Street calling for better child protection throughout the family court system.

Claire Throssell handed in the 42,000 signature-petition on Tuesday. Her sons Jack and Paul, 12 and nine, were killed after their father Darren Sykes set fire to the former family home on Tennyson Close, Penistone, in October 2014.

Claire now fronts the Women’s Aid Child First campaign which she hopes will keep other mothers and children safe from abusive ex-partners.
