THE MOTHER of two children killed in a house fire started deliberately by their father has donated £865 to a children’s hospice.
Claire Throssell raised the money at the ‘Keeping The Memories Alive’ concert which marked the first anniversary of the deaths of Jack, 12, and Paul, nine.
In memory of her sons, Claire, 44, of Thurlstone, set up the Heads Together charity which aims to help terminally ill children and their families and those facing traumatic experiences.
Claire visited Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice to present a cheque for £865 along with Jim Kier, the charity’s treasurer.
We have been at the heart of our community, every week, since 1858. The town and its people have changed dramatically since then but the Chronicle has been a constant.
It’s our belief that news should be available to everyone regardless of their circumstance. But we need a little helping hand to do so.
Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
Your support allows us to keep holding decision-makers to account and report on everything that happens in the town, good or bad, fairly."
