Jamie Clapham has been brought in as Paul Heckingbottom's first team coach at Barnsley FC following yesterday's sacking of Tommy Wright.

The 40-year-old has been a coach at Middlesbrough and Coventry City following a player career that included spells at Ipswich Town and Birmingham City. He played against the Reds for Ipswich in the 2000-play-off final.

The appointment is initially on a short-term basis after the departure of Wright following allegations that he accepted a £5,000 bung.
