A GROUP cleared more than 60 bags in one morning of litter picking at an old railway line in Darfield.

On Saturday, the Wath, West Melton and Brampton Litter Pickers, along with the South Area Tidy Team, voluntarily cleared 62 bags of waste from the area near the Thaal Indian restaurant on Doncaster Road.

A spokesperson from the group said: “A huge thank you to the locals and especially to the Tidy Team that not only got stuck in, but removed all the rubbish.

“Thank you also to the owner of Thaal who allowed us access to park in their car park.

“We cleared a huge 62 bags of litter and a horrendous amount of debris, but the area looks so much better. Another fantastic job by all, amazing things happen when great people come together.”
