BARNSLEY College principal Chris Webb is leaving his post after three years to join Bradford College.

Chris has been the college principal since 2015, and was deputy principal for three years prior to that.

He will join Bradford College as chief executive officer.

He said: “I am very excited to be joining Bradford College as their new CEO, they presented such an exciting opportunity that I just couldn’t turn it down, however the decision to leave Barnsley College wasn’t an easy one. I’ve been incredibly lucky to work at Barnsley College for the past eight years and it has been a great honour for me to lead such a fantastic organisation for the last three.

“I will certainly miss everyone at the college.”

Simon Perryman, the college’s chairman of governors, said: “The governors and staff will obviously be very sorry to see Chris go but can recognise his desire to take on challenging new role. Chris has made a tremendous contribution to our success in transforming lives here in Barnsley and leaves behind a fantastic team of staff in which we have every confidence.”

Chris will leave Barnsley College in the spring to take up his new role. The recruitment process to find a suitable replacement will start shortly.
