A POPULAR Darfield barber who died last weekend will pay one last visit to his shop during his funeral procession next week.
Geoff Utley, affectionately known as Mad Geoff, died on Saturday morning at Barnsley Hospital.
He was well-known and made several appearances in the Chronicle over the years, with this most recent picture taken only the day before he worked his last shift at the shop on New Year's Eve.
His funeral procession next Thursday will pause for a moment outside his shop en route to the Crematorium in Ardsley.
The procession will pause outside the barber shop at 2.30pm.
We have been at the heart of our community, every week, since 1858. The town and its people have changed dramatically since then but the Chronicle has been a constant.
It’s our belief that news should be available to everyone regardless of their circumstance. But we need a little helping hand to do so.
Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
Your support allows us to keep holding decision-makers to account and report on everything that happens in the town, good or bad, fairly."
