Conor Hourihane has been named Championship player of the Month for August, continuing the Reds' recent run of success in the monthly awards.

The captain – who won the League One award in August 2014 – has netted twice, including a screamer against QPR, and assisted four other goals.

Reds head coach Paul Heckingbottom was nominated for Manager of the Month after winning three of his first five games since promotion, but missed out to Huddersfield's David Wagner.

The Reds have had great success in the monthly awards during 2016. Lee Johnson – who was also nominated this month – won the January award in League One, on the day he left to join Bristol City. His replacement Heckingbottom was nominated in February before winning in March.

Sam Winnall was named Player of the Month for January and Alfie Mawson was nominated in February.
