Max Cook, of Barnsley team Wilson Racing, continued his perfect start to the Motostar British standard class Championship with two wins at Brands Hatch over the Easter weekend.

The 14-year-old, who also won twice in the first event at Donington Park, led in the practice sessions and qualifying and was always in front in the first race. In the second race, he was second until overtaking the leader with five laps to go and is on top of the standings overall with a maximum of 100 points, 33 clear of the other riders.

Charlie Atkins, also 14, had been sixth in practice but qualified ninth then finished the first race eighth after a battle with four other riders. He then had to retire from the second race, as did Tom Alexander, 13, who had picked up points in the first race.

Atkins is currently 11th with 16 points and Alexander 14th with 11 points. Gary Wilson said: "It was a mixed weekend for the team, but I am delighted for Max Cook who couldn't have done anything more.  It proved a difficult track for Charlie Atkins last year and this year it proved problematic for him too.

"However, the next round is at Oulton Park where he had a good result at the end of last season.  Tom Alexander continues to do what is asked of him.  His lap times are what we have asked for him and he continues to pick up points along the way."
