THE Cooper Gallery is set to reopen for the first time since March tomorrow.
The opening will see the debut of a new exhibition - Allegories of the Senses - which is a collaborative project which includes an Arts Council collection, with pieces aiming to stimulate the five senses.
Rarely seen works by local artists, Malcolm Whittaker and John Kenneth Long, sit alongside other works from famous artists and a three-metre-high textile piece by Caroline Achaintre.
LEGO have also supported the new exhibition by supplying a brand new concept, braille bricks, to help interpret the art to visitors who may be visually impaired.
Coun Tim Cheetham, cabinet spokesperson for place, said: “The Cooper Gallery is delighted to be opening its doors once again so visitors can enjoy its outstanding collections and take time to relax and reflect in their spaces.
“What a way to open with such a fantastic exhibition which has been years in the making.
“They look forward to welcoming visitors back old and new for another exciting exhibition.”
