THERE is ‘no money in the budget’ to relocate dome CCTV cameras to monitor new cases of antisocial behaviour, a council officer has said.
A request was made by Coun Linda Burgess at the August meeting of the North /West Local Policing Team community safety meeting for a such a camera to be put up near a takeaway following reports over noise and nuisance vehicles after 1am.
However, at Monday’s safety meeting, Coun Burgess was told by tasking officer Cath Fairweather that she had received an email informing her it would not be possible to fulfil her request.
Cath said: “I have had an email saying there is no more money in the budget to relocate cameras and I’m told unless it is a matter of life and death we cannot move cameras without a good reason to do so.”
