A BRIDE from Barnsley has tied the knot at at a four-star luxury lakeside venue almost a year to the day after finding out she had won a competition to hold her wedding there.
The new Mrs Abi Searles from Grimethorpe won the Daffodil Hotel and Spa's win a dream wedding competition ahead of almost 1,000 other entrants.
The prize, worth more than £5,000, included use of the hotel; a red carpet drinks welcome, catering for up to 80 guests, bridal suite accommodation for the bride and groom, and services of the hotel's wedding planner and master of ceremonies.
