FOR three local couples, tomorrow’s royal wedding will be extra special - because they’re getting married too.

Denise Renard and Neil Lax, Lisa Nadin and Martin Lyman, and Kelly Chambers and Craig Holt will all share their special day with royal couple, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who are getting married at St George’s Chapel, Windsor.

Denise, 51, and Neil, 55, have been together for two years and Neil proposed on Christmas Day in Tenerife in 2016.

The couple, of Pickup Crescent, Wombwell, will tie the knot at Summer Lane Methodist Church, Wombwell, and their reception will be at the Holiday Inn, Manvers.

For Kelly and Craig, the scene for the proposal was prophetic - it was outside Buckingham Palace.

The couple, of Brettas Park, Monk Bretton, are getting married at Burntwood Court, Brierley.

Craig, 37, has been with Kelly, 30, for five years.

Lisa and Martin are so close they work together, running the Queen Victoria pub in Darfield.

Lisa, 42, and Craig, 35, have been together for two-and-a-half years and will marry at Barnsley Register Office, before heading back to their pub for a reception.

“We booked our wedding then the royal one was announced so I decided to theme it to tie in, especially as we run the Queen Victoria - it was too many connections to miss,” said Lisa.

“Plus, we’ve incorporated the American connection as our wedding carr is a KITT replica (from the 80s’ TV show Knight Rider) because my hubby is a massive fan.”
