VICAR of Dibley star Dawn French is now admiring a perfectly restored antique lantern - courtesy of an Elsecar craft company.

Lighting and stained glass specialist Kansa Craft has just finished restoring Dawn's lantern to its full glory after being commissioned by the Ab Fab comedian.

The firm's Neil Mather said: "The lantern was a massive bronze globe that had seen better days - it was entirely caved in on one side. We had to do a complete rebuild.

"Dawn found us through another lighting company so we never actually saw her but that's usual for our celebrity clients.

"We have done lighting for Buckingham Palace and work for cruise liners like lighting and stained glass panels for their restaurants."

Kansa Craft is based at The Flour Mill, Wath Road, and specialises in metal and glass used in lighting.
