Barnsley CC enjoyed a sensational weekend as they went top of the Yorkshire League on Saturday then won what they hope will be the first of many trophies this season on Sunday.

The Shaw Laners triumphed at the League's Twenty20 finals day in Doncaster on Sunday with victories over York and Harrogate. Danny Rafiq hit an unbeaten 54 in the final, a day after smashing 106 off 56 balls in the home league win over Sheffield Collegiate which put Barnsley five points clear at the top because previous leaders Rotherham Town lost at Yorkshire Academy.

In the Huddersfield League, Muztuza Hussain took four wickets and made a match-winning 45 not out as Championship leaders Cawthorne won their thrilling top-of-the-table clash by one wicket at home to Armitage Bridge.Hoylandswaine remain second in the Premiership after a four wicket success at Broad Oak.

Jason Meadows blasted a brilliant 120 and former Barnsley FC star Scott Jones took six wickets for the second week in a row as Elsecar won at home to high-flying Treeton in the South Yorkshire League Championship.

In the Pontefract League, Darton bowled Yorkshire Main out for 65 in a ten-wicket success to stay in contention for promotion from Division Three. Scott Whittlestone (six for 15) and Ben Wood (four for 29) ripped through the visitors then Andy Burkill (46 not out) secured the win. Third-placed Darton are five points behind the two promotion spots.

Duan Kapp smashed 132 as Notton enjoyed a big win at at Streethouse. Opener Kapp hit 18 fours and three sixes then Jonathan Habe (53) pushed Notton on to 255 for eight. The hosts fell short on 222 for eight with Robert Jackson and Luke Wilson taking three wickets each.

Monk Bretton bowled Askern out for 77 in Division One with Christopher Dixon and Phil Howell taking five wickets each. The third-placed Monks, who are eight points off top, had reached 179 for eight earlier with Jamie Green reaching 60.

West Bretton made it through to the semi-finals of the Dyson Skidmore Cup. Ryan Gemmell took four wickets to bowl Hemsworth out for 124 then the hosts won with seven wickets remaining.
