A DAD feels like he has been given his life back after his stay in the UK was allowed to be extended.

South African-born Calvin Waring, 32, of South Drive, Bolton-upon-Dearne, had faced deportation and a life away from his daughter Grace, three.

He had been added to the UK Border Agency's deportation list after an extension to his Visa was declined due to him having two traffic convictions.

Calvin, who has two parents with British citizenship and has been in the UK for eight years, has now been granted a residency permit but will have to renew it in the future.

His status now allows him to work and Calvin can now begin to start to pay off his debts, which he says have mounted during the time he has been in limbo.

He started back working as a HGV fitter at Dodworth's B and B Trucks and Tractors this week.
