BARNSLEY MP Dan Jarvis has visited Market Parade, where market traders are set to move in next month.

Traders in the Metropolitan Centre are set to move to the new space, next to May Day Green Market and underneath the multi-storey car park, so the Metropolitan Centre can be refurbished and extended.

Stalls will be open for business on March 10, and a family fun day has been planned for March 11 with children’s entertainment.

Mr Jarvis was joined by Anne Untisz, the council’s town centre services manager and Dave Goddard, the senior project manager for Henry Boot.

He said: “I think it’s going to be great. It’s all coming together and I hope the traders will be happy with it.”
