DANCING clearly runs in the Coles family.

And it was only through dancing friends Chloe and Eden even realised they were distantly related.

The pair, who attend Lisa Thornley’s School of Dance on Stocks Lane in town, started together 12 years ago.

They became friends, then realised the reason they shared a surname is because Eden’s great-granddad and Chloe’s granddad are cousins.

Now Chloe, 18 and Eden, 19, have just celebrated after wowing judges at a Cleethorpes heat for a chance at becoming Miss Dance and Dance Master - top dancing titles for female and male performers.

Chloe, from Yews Lane, Bank End, impressed with her lyrical, piece while Eden, from Fairway, Dodworth, made it to the final with a contemporary dance performance.

They both now have the chance to take home the trophies in June at the finals in Blackpool’s Winter Gardens.

Eden’s mum Jo said: “It is brilliant for Lisa’s dance school. Abi Flatters, another of her pupils, was runner up for Miss Dance there too. It shows they have clearly been trained to a high standard.

“Because it was their last time entering it made it ultra special. The first heat they ever did together they both came runner up so they have come full circle.”
