BARNSLEY’S most popular firework extravaganza is returning on November 3.

The Locke Park Bonfire, organised by community group Barnsley Round Table, will be bringing a night of amusement, rides, a bonfire and a firework display.

Jack Wordsworth, who is part of Barnsley Round Table, wants to ensure that the public understands the event is much more than a firework night.

The proceeds from the night will be donated to various charities, and Jake is actively encouraging charities who are in need of funds to come forward.

He said: “The proceeds of the bonfire night are always donated to charity. We’ve donated to local scout groups and Barnsley Hospice. We have been able to support Action for Barnsley Homeless, a charity who feed those in need every Tuesday, by paying their rent for the year, which came at a perfect time for them. We want to continue to help those in need.

“We consider any donation request carefully and actively encourage people and organisations to come forward with suggestions.

“We are also encouraging Barnsley people to come along to the bonfire night so that we can raise as much money as possible to go towards some fantastic causes.”

Tickets are available to purchase at the door.
