MP JOHN Healey got a helping hand in opening the new wind turbines at Dearne Valley College.
Children from Lacewood and Carrfield academies helped the MP to unveil the two turbines that have been paid for by the Coalfields Regeneration Trust.
Mr Healey, who is also Chair of the Dearne Valley Eco-vision board, said: "This is a groundbreaking and win-win development. It's the first time the Coalfields Trust has linked up with a school or college to share the benefits of wind energy.
"I expect we'll see what's now been done in the Dearne copied in other parts of the country."
