DEMOLITION has begun on the former Charisma club.

The site at 6B Market Street, Hoyland, is being cleared, with plans submitted to create a new modern retail unit for frozen food store Jack Fulton, a council spokesman said.

Jack Fulton will close its existing store in Hoyland when the new one opens.

Coun Roy Miller said: “It is the owner of the building who has decided to demolish it. Demolition is permitted development and does not require planning permission although the council must be notified, which the owner has done. We can confirm that the building is not listed and is not in a conservation area.”
