WORK is well underway to convert the former nightclub Citrus Rooms in to a children's play centre.
Father-of-three Nick Hadfield, 37, of Bainton Drive, Barnsley, was granted permission for the conversion and is delighted with the progress so far.He plans to open the play centre, called Tedz, on May 9.
Nick said: "I've got three children and to be honest, I was looking for a business opportunity to pass on to them. I did look at other towns but because I am local I wanted to do it here so my kids have got something for their future. There aren't a lot of things to do in the town centre."
