DISCOUNTED rents are on offer to new traders on Barnsley's semi open market.
The semi open market, which opens Tuesdays 8am to 4pm and Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 8am to 4.30pm, currently has a wide range of stalls including everything from fruit and vegetables to carpets and home ware.
New traders are being sought in the run up to Christmas and trial new goods not currently available in the market.
The aim is to create new businesses which can eventually move into the redeveloped market site.
The markets team is particularly interested in traders offering herbs and spices, electrical supplies or Motability goods.
Traders will be offered discounted rent for the first month of trading - £5 per unit per day instead of the usual charge of £12.
