A NEW dog grooming parlour will open in Penistone - in spite of more than 65 objections.
The soundproofed salon, which will be located in the former retail unit at 10 Market Street, will be run by Julia Ogden.
A 59-signature petition was submitted to Barnsley Council opposing the plan, while there were eight individual objections.
Concerns included possible drainage problems caused by dog hair, the proposal affecting people who are scared of dogs and the salon spoiling the environment for patrons of the adjacent Spread Eagle pub.
