A DOG owner says he was forced to pay more than £200 to adopt his own dog after it was scared by thunder and ran away.
William Sellars’s lurcher Jess ran off from his home in Wakefield during a thunder storm leaving his family distraught.
He searched for two weeks to find it and then enquired to his local council who confirmed Jess had been taken in by wardens.
The dog was then taken to Cliffe Kennels in Hoylandswaine.
