A DOG lover has finally been reunited with the pet who police seized more than ten months ago.
Ashli Lazenby’s three-legged bulldog-type dog Rio has been in kennels since last March after a dog walker was bitten. Rio and Ashli’s other dog Reggy were blamed, the man was unable to say which dog was responsible and the courts ordered the pair to be returned.
That was in October - but the police still refused to hand over the dogs. In December Reggy was allowed home, but Rio was only given back on Wednesday - after another court hearing.
Ashli, 22, of Shepherd Lane, Thurnscoe, said she was delighted to have her pets back.
We have been at the heart of our community, every week, since 1858. The town and its people have changed dramatically since then but the Chronicle has been a constant.
It’s our belief that news should be available to everyone regardless of their circumstance. But we need a little helping hand to do so.
Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
Your support allows us to keep holding decision-makers to account and report on everything that happens in the town, good or bad, fairly."
