A BUSINESSWOMAN who asked for help to provide free Christmas Day meals for those in need has received a flood of donations.

Sara Headley, who runs her shop Sara's Flowers and Teas on Pitt Street, Barnsley, is giving up her own Christmas Day to provide the meals and has about 30 people booked in.

She has been inundated with offers including a Christmas turkey, £100 from a school Christmas fair, and a hamper of coffee - enough for 500 cups.

LIfestyle Fitness gym in Shambles Street, Barnsley, has also stepped up to the plate to sponsor 25 three-course dinners (worth £9.95 each), while Morrisons supermarket has donated 50 Christmas puddings, soup and tins to make food parcels for people to take home.
