BARNSLEY actor Shaun Dooley is part of a star-studded cast appearing in a BBC drama about the gunpowder plot of 1605.

Shaun plays Sir William Wade, the lieutenant of the Tower of London, and stars alongside Hollywood actress Liv Tyler and Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington.

Filming on the 17th century thriller started last week, but Shaun, from Cudworth, is keeping tight-lipped about much of the action.

“I can’t say too much about it as I could get into trouble, but it’s a good, major role and has a really brilliant cast.

“It’s a great part I’m playing; Sir William Wade is the lieutenant of the Tower of London and he’s quite violent.

“My character references for him are the child catcher and Darth Vader. It’s a good role, and I get to ride horses and have sword fights and things.”
